Free RAR Password Unlocker is a small and simple tool meant to help you recover lost and forgotten passwords that lock your RAR files. It does that by actually cracking the passwords, and it uses the two most common methods of doing that: by using a dictionary file and by using a brute force attack. Unfortunately, on both computers where I tested this application, trying to use the brute force attack made the application crash. The dictionary attack worked eventually, but this method requires you to provide a dictionary file, and this may not come in handy to some users, especially the beginners.
As you can see, when it comes to reliability, this tool left me with a bitter taste. Anyway, though it failed to convince me, it has some undeniably attractive advantages. For example, it is completely free, and this is a pretty rare case in the market of password cracking and recovery tools.
Another benefit of this tool is that it’s easy to use. Its intuitive and straightforward interface will sure look appealing to many users, especially to inexperienced ones.
Cutting long story short, Free RAR Password Unlocker is an interesting tool that can do what it promises to do, but you should better keep in mind that it might also fail to do what it’s meant to do.
